Travelling from Huescar, it took about an hour and a half. This involved a journey along the A92 towards Granada turning off at junction 241B which is signposted Granada, this is almost immediately after you see the big fairground wheel on the hillside on your right hand side.
This gets you onto the E902/A44. Drive along here towards junction 123 which is the turnoff for the market, but if you look at the road signs and follow the ones with the yellow auto bus sign on them, this will lead you to the market as it is just before the bus station.
You will see a roundabout with some spectacular water fountains in the middle, turn left here, the market is on the right. Turn right into the market, where yellow jacketed staff will direct you to where you can park.
The area for the market is huge and if all the spaces are taken up then it is easily the biggest market in the area, however being summer some spaces in the middle were not taken. Possibly Spanish leaving the cities in the summer and consequently less customers or it’s just to hot!
There are a lot of clothes stalls catering for men and women and prices are very reasonable, we saw flat shoes for 1 euro, trousers for 3 euros, and tops from 3 euros.
As well as clothes stalls there were stalls selling ceramics, paintings, a very nice but pricy furniture stall, lots of fruit and veg stalls, we saw 4 kilos of tomatoes on sale for a euro. There were the usual Moroccan stalls selling leather belts, sunglasses, hats, purses etc.
It took us about two and a half hours to look around the market and on leaving we decided to go to McDonalds which is further along the main road but it was closed with barriers over the entrance. With no food stalls in the market, if you think you will be peckish it would be a wise idea to take something with you.
