We are pleased to offer a fantastic large 6-bedroomed detached accommodation set over two floors with separate amenities which can be accessed via a space having spiral staircase. The property is set up as two separate entities and is therefore ideal for a large family or for business purposes. The property includes 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms and a shower-room and 2 lounge/diners.  There is a large outside space for development which would give breathtaking views that stretch as far as the Sierra Nevada (some 2 hours away).  Upstairs there is a small balcony with good views and there is a terrace on the ground floor offering further views.  The house is set in a small hamlet with 4 other Spanish houses in the immediate area which are used as holiday homes only and therefore the majority of the time there is nobody else around.

The property would make an ideal large family home or it could be used as a Bed and Breakfast/Holiday Home.  The current owners originally bought the property and lived upstairs, renting out downstairs as a self catering accommodation or on a rooms per night basis.  However, due to a variety of changes in the last 6 years due to both career and medical reasons, it has been difficult to continue as a bed and breakfast, and during the last two years the downstairs has been used for the family.

About the area

Castril is located in the Natural Park of the Sierra de Castril and is ideal for those looking to relocate to a quiet area where time stands still.  It has been designated a place of outstanding beauty since 2006.

Castril was also voted the number one White Village in Andalucia (as voted by the Spanish nationals) and is becoming a more and more attractive place to visit for those looking for an alternative holiday.  Still extremely popular with the Spanish, there are more English, Dutch, German and French beginning to visit the area.  The Sierra de Castril Natural Park is fantastic for walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing (licence required).

The area is surrounded by four fantastic lakes and the area has to be seen to be believed.  Those who visit the area do not want to leave as it is such a special place.

Castril itself has a “Suspended Walk above Water” which is known to the British as

the “Gorge Walk”.  There are several small supermarkets, a few bars and shops, as well as 2 butchers, 2 bakers, a post office, pharmacy and medical centre.  The village is kept in immaculate condition being cleaned and maintained daily by the locals.

Castril still remains very traditional and October brings a “Bull Run” to the village.  No bulls are harmed and it is a great time for all to enjoy.

April brings a Fiesta to the local community of “La Solana” where there is a procession and a large Paella is cooked for all to enjoy.

You really do need to visit the area to get a great feel for Castril before thinking of a move to the area….Seeing is believing.
