Having received the following below from one of our regular advertisers and not wanting to “blow our own trumpet” we thought in this climate, it would be fitting to share with our loyal readers and advertisers!!

Yet another “monthly” mag has disappeared leaving the regular advertisers out of pocket. It seems to be an annual event in the Baza area.

Why are so many Brit’s ripped off by the British Expats who feel it’s their right to take money and walk away without explanation?

We understand that the publishers have to cover their costs and also that they have to pay in advance for the printers etc. and therefore do not mind paying in advance and enjoying a discount for doing so. We do mind paying in advance and watching people walk away with our money without offering explanations. An answer to a ‘phone call or email or even an advance warning printed in the last edition would help, but no, Nada / nothing, every time!

I came here expecting the Expat community to help and support each other. How wrong (and disappointed) I was. For those out there that are, like me, just trying to earn an honest living, I Thank you, and feel for you.

Thankfully, The Sierras, with both Ladies at the helm are the one constant we seem to be able to rely on and are the only publication to be there every month and actually contact advertisers if there is likely to be a delay or a problem that they cannot control.

On behalf of all the local honest “paying” advertisers, I would like to thank you both for your integrity and for demonstrating that there are some honest Expats here.

So come on local traders, get behind the honest, well meaning Brit’s. We can help each other through these difficult times.

Good luck to Wendy and Lorraine for the future, in your separate ventures. I feel sure this sentiment is echoed by many others.
